Daryl Roth and Hal Luftig (Kinky Boots)

Four-time Tony Award winner Harvey Fierstein and Grammy Award-winning pop music legend Cyndi Lauper have teamed up to create KINKY BOOTS – a new musical inspired by a true story and based on the film. Broadway in Chicago is thrilled to announce the pre-Broadway world premiere of Kinky Boots, before it transfers to New York City. I spoke with Daryl Roth and Hal Luftig, the lead producers, who feel very connected with this story and its universal themes - identity, risk, father/son relationships and acceptance of self and others. Kinky Boots is definitely one of the most anticipated musicals of the new Broadway season.
