Profiles Theatre celebrates its 25th Anniversary Season with the Midwest premiere of WRECKS by Resident Artist Neil LaBute, starring John Judd. At his wife’s funeral, Edward Carr (Judd) gives a 70-minute monologue about his passionate yet complicated marriage. LaBute is a master at meticulously weaving strangeness into the character, while Judd portrays him as a normal guy who is hiding a hideous secret. John and I discussed why our sympathy for Edward Carr runs so deep that we are still on his side after he violates our moral and societal expectations.
