Laurie Metcalf is widely known for her performance of “Jackie Harris” on Roseanne, where she earned 3 Emmy Awards. She is also an original member of Steppenwolf Theatre, and has returned to her home for the show DETROIT. We spoke at Steppenwolf Theatre about Detroit, the first show in the 2010-2011 season, how grateful she is to be back in Chicago performing at Steppenwolf, and why she is attracted to the humor in this particular script written by Lisa D’Amour.
