Mark St. Germain (Freud’s Last Session)

I spoke with Mark St. Germain at The 44th Annual Jeff Awards, honoring excellence in professional theatre produced in the Chicago area. FREUD’S LAST SESSION received 3 Jeff Award nominations, including Best Play, with over 200 performances at Chicago ’s Mercury Theatre. Mark St. Germain is the playwright of this “fictional meeting of the minds” of Sigmund Freud and C.S. Lewis, as he is known for writing biographical plays about historical figures. According to Mark, “When I first tried to get this show produced in New York , I was told it didn’t have a chance. Why would anyone pay to see two guys talking about God when they could go see Spider-Man?” Freud’s Last Session is set to open in 2013 in major markets including London , Madrid , Tokyo , Singapore , Mexico City and Los Angeles.
