Tanya and I spoke at the Goodman Theatre about her new play EL NOGALAR (pecan orchard) a loose adaptation of Chekhov’s The Cherry Orchard. Her play is set in modern day northern Mexico , and is a co-production with Teatro Vista. Tanya addresses the issues of class, entitlement, and the return of Mexican immigrant families who once fled their country.
