Chay Yew (Ameriville)

Victory Gardens Theater continues its 2011-2012 season with AMERIVILLE, developed with and directed by Artistic Director Chay Yew in his first directorial project at Victory Gardens . Ameriville uses Hurricane Katrina as a lens to explore race, class, poverty, immigration and political awareness. Chay’s mission is to focus on new work and diversity, and to provide a poetic, thought-provoking exploration to the devastation of Hurricane Katrina and its aftermath. According to Chay, Ameriville is “… a beautiful ride in to what it means to be American.”
