John Mahoney

John Mahoney is best known for playing Marty Crane, the retired police officer father of Kelsey Grammer’s Dr. Frasier Crane, in the TV series Frasier. I went to Northlight Theatre to speak with the legendary John Mahoney about the show A LIFE in the greenroom, during his break between shows. John stars as Desmond Drumm, who is told by his doctor he has only a few months to live. The play uses eight actors, and the action takes place in both 1937 and 1977, showing four characters at two different stages of their lives. John says his character is on a quest to find some peace in his life before it is too late in this bittersweet story.
