John Mahoney (The Outgoing Tide)

I was honored to interview Chicago icon John Mahoney about the World Premiere of THE OUTGOING TIDE at Northlight Theatre. Gunner (John Mahoney) has hatched an unorthodox plan to secure his family's future and resolve his suffering. Gunner's Alzheimer's is advancing, and he feels constantly humiliated. While there is nothing funny about Alzheimer's disease or end-of-life decisions, this play "pokes fun" and says things that people are afraid to say and to face. This is an emotionally turbulent production that will make you laugh, cry, and continue to question. The Outgoing Tide is filled with the right combination of honesty, compassion, wit, anger, humor and love. John, who is best known as Marty Crane from Frasier, is amazingly talented and truly passionate about theatre in Chicago.
