Martha Lavey (Middletown)

Steppenwolf Theatre Company concludes its 2010/2011 season, which explores the theme of Public vs. Private Self, with MIDDLETOWN by Will Eno. I was thrilled to speak with Martha Lavey (Librarian) who is an ensemble member and the Artistic Director of Steppenwolf Theatre. We talked about each character in this play having something to say - a perspective all their own, which encourages us to ask questions about our own existence. Martha is passionate about her role as librarian, as she feels her character is a person who has great listening presence and is very non-judgmental about people's lives.
